The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, has congratulated Gaston Browne on his re-election, describing the result as a renewal of public confidence in his leadership.
In a statement issued after the April 30 general election in Antigua and Barbuda, Rodríguez pointed to strong voter participation and said the outcome ensures continuity in Browne’s administration. She added that Venezuela “celebrates this victory with genuine appreciation,” while reaffirming the close political and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Rodríguez also reiterated her government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and advancing a shared regional agenda focused on development and the well-being of Caribbean nations through strategic partnerships.
A separate statement from Foreign Ministry of Venezuela congratulated both the government and people of Antigua and Barbuda, describing the election as a demonstration of democratic stability, civic engagement and popular sovereignty.
The ministry said Browne’s victory secures a fourth consecutive term and reflects the electorate’s trust in his leadership and vision. It added that Venezuela remains committed to deepening bilateral relations based on solidarity, mutual respect and cooperation.
Caracas said it intends to continue expanding initiatives aimed at promoting economic and social development in both countries, while wishing Browne success in his new term.
