ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA, AUGUST 17, 2025- Executive Director for the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management Dr. Ronen C.A Francis, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Lennox Andrews- Grenada’s Minister for Economic Development and Planning, Agriculture, Lands, Forestry and the Blue Economy.
Dr. Francis, a Vincentian National, who began his tenure as Executive Director on August 1st, 2025- leads the regional IGO, which is currently setting up its headquarters in Grenada.
The discussions during the courtesy visit centered around the PISLM Projects including the CSIDS SOILCARE Phase 1 and Phase 2 schedule to start in the first quarter of 2026, the Integrated Landscape Management Project (ILM) in Carriacou, and the Capacity-Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) Project.
Both parties also discussed potential collaboration to advance land degradation work in Petite Martinique- especially considering the impact on the sister-isle by Hurricane Beryl and sustainable land and soil rehabilitation within agricultural lands, in collaboration with PISLM’s Research, Advisory and Capacity Building on New Adaptation Technologies (RAC/NAT) Facility.
“We remain committed to supporting countries attain land degradation neutrality targets and look forward to continuing to work with the Ministry of Agriculture, to improve the livelihoods of the people who depend on the land,” explained Dr. Francis.
The PISLM, will also be receiving support from Hon. Lennox Andrews and the Ministry of Agriculture, to advance its host country and headquarters agreements in Grenada.
