Newly crowned 2026 Labour Queen Quinella “Queen Ella” Williams says her victory represents more than a personal achievement, describing the title as a shared triumph with her fellow contestants and support team.
Williams, who represented St. Mary’s South, said her journey to the crown was grounded in faith and strengthened by the people around her.
“First and foremost, I give thanks to God because without Him, none of this would be possible,” she said in a statement following her win.
She pointed to the role of her family, noting their “constant love, prayers, and unlimited support,” while also thanking the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party for creating what she described as an opportunity for growth and exposure for all participants.
Williams made clear that she does not see the crown as hers alone.
“This crown is not mine alone, it belongs to every one of my sisters, because each of us wears a crown in our own right every single day,” she said.
Throughout her statement, Williams listed a wide network of contributors to her success, including trainers, designers, mentors and friends, crediting them with shaping her development during the competition. She said their guidance helped refine her confidence, presentation and communication skills.
She also acknowledged the behind-the-scenes effort involved in the pageant, noting the challenges contestants faced and the determination required to perform.
“If nerves were visible, I’m sure you all would’ve seen backstage, but we push through like queens do,” she said.
Williams reserved special mention for close friends who supported her throughout the process, describing them as a constant source of reassurance and preparation, from styling to late-night encouragement.
Looking ahead, she said she intends to embrace the responsibilities of the role and connect with the wider public during her reign.
“I am deeply honored, truly grateful, and I look forward to sharing my reign with all of you,” she said.
She closed her message with a personal reflection on the milestone.
“This is truly my moment for life.”
